Hello !

I have major troubles getting backup with linux to work thru dmz

i will try to explain my hardware setup and configuration

Media server wk2 sp4 Backupexec 10.1 5629

agent for linux & sun nls Unix Agent, Version 5.01 Revision 5.046
linux redhat es 4 Sun sparc 5.08

The firewall checkpoint ngx r60 with portrules 8192 and 6101 opend for backupexec

So far everything works i can see the linux, sun host in backup exec i can also browse the partitions and filesystems

My problem comes when i try to run a backup then i get the message

Final error: 0xe000846b - The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Remote Agent.
Make sure that the Remote Agent is installed on the target computer and is running.

Note have a linux redhat es4 host on the regular network running same agent as the abowe that works without any trouble !!

Any help i can get would be thankfull

Regards

Christer S

Hello,

From the below compatibility check if the linux version is compatible with 10d

(title) Symantec Backup Exec 10d (10.1) for Windows Servers - Software Compatibility List (SCL)

http://support.veritas.com/docs/278254

Also have you installed the remote agent license on the media server?

Thanks
