Having trouble backing up shadow copy components on PDC (Windows 2003). Backup fails with following message "OFO: Initialization failure on: "\\GC-MASTER\Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). VSS Snapshot error. Could not flush I/O writes anymore". The Microsoft Shadow Copy Provider service gets stopped each time the backup runs. Any ideas?
Microsoft has issued a fix for VSS which seems to fix a few issues. I would advise you to contact Microsoft and request the fix. The backup of the Shadow Copy Components will issue a call to start the VSS service so that the system data can be backed up.
