Backup 9.1to 10d Upgrade Pitfall

We are getting ready to upgrade from BE 9.1 to 10d. I pulled down the support doc #281157 and I am reviewing it. I am trying to hear first hand if anyone came across any problems during their upgrade I should be aware of. I am mostly concern with the client agent that is installed on all of our servers. Will this be a potential problem during the ugprade?

Should I upgrade first then upgrade all the client agents or will my backup script still going to work with the old agents? Please advise.

Hi,

Before Upgrading please run Environment Check utility.
http://support.veritas.com/docs/271449

First Upgrade on media server and then pushinstall all the remote agents !!

Update us on the same and revert for any further Query
Hope this will help you

Thank you
Gauri

If you upgrade to v10d straight from v9.x, you will HAVE to upgrade the Remote Agents at the same time. See the SCL at http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/278254.htm

If, however you do it in stages, to v10, then to v10d, the v10 media server WILL talk to the v9.1 RAWS, See http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/264484.htm
