Backup Error on Oracle Database

I am using BE 2010R3 and I'am having an error regarding backup of Oracle database on a Linux server. I wasn't able to open or see the source selection of the database and therefore unable to create a backup. See Screenshot..

The status of Oracle instance is down, are you sure the oracle services are up and running.

What is the version of Oracle that you are using?  Oracle 11g R2 is not supported on the Linux platform.  See the SCL below
