When I try to backup one of my servers I get this error.
The pair on source computer 'TCS002', destination computer 'BSERVER' for job 'tcs002' canceled due to an error. : Another program requires the computer 'TCS002' to be restarted in order to complete the installation of new software, updates, service packs or a previous System State restore. You must restart the computer before you can backup or restore the System State.
I have rebooted the server numerous times with the same results. I backup 2 servers and only this one has this problem.
I also get an error when I try to backup the system state using NTBackup. That error is.
Unable to open "c:\windows\SYSVOL\domain\DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory" - skipped.
Reason: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
There is a hot fix from microsoft for this error. Will this hot fix also apply to Backup Exec. The only file in this hot fix is the ntbackup.exe program.
