Backup Exec 10d License Key

I got a quantum superload 3 lto with backup exec 10d bundled. They gave me a 60 eval until i registered and after registration they emailed me a license key... this license key does not work. I get the the following message

"Unable to detect a previously installed version of Backup Exec which automatically approves this upgrade. Please contact Symantec Corporation by using the information provded on the CD booklet."

I've installed clean and tried an upgrade install from our previous version of exec (veritas 9.1) and i get the same message.

Am i missing something here?

Hello,


This error message will be generated, if the entered license number is an
upgrade license. Upgrade license number checks for previous version of
Agents installed.
