RALUS is ONLY supported on that particular series of NetGear devices for the 12.5 version - and it was only recently certified after work was done with NetGear.

I believe it will be featured in one of the 12.5 compatibility lists in due course - it kind of bridges both the hardware and software lists - as normally hardware used as a backup target is decribed in one list and operating systems and applications protected by agents are decribed the other - but this is a hardware device protected by an agent.

If you want to backup data on a Ready NAS Pro with 11D you will have enable a CIFS (Windows style) share and perform a share level backup (against which you will still need an Agent for Windows Servers license)

Oh and Backup Exec 10.5 never existed so NetGear's Press announcement
http://www.netgear.com/About/PressReleases/en-US/2009/20090831.aspx
has a typo error in it it should have read as 12.5

You will need to upgrade the media server to 12.5.  BE Servers can only communicate with the same version or lower.

Other option would be to install the 11d Ralus agent on the linux machine.

Where I can find 11D Ralus agent for Netgear Readynas Pro? All I can find is 12.5.

"Priced at $395.00 and licensed from Symantec, the RALUS Add-On is supported by Backup Exec versions 10.5 and newer and is available for download at both http://www.netgear.com and http://www.symantec.com. "

This is from Netgear site. So I missunderstand "RALUS Add-On is supported by Backup Exec version 10.5 and newer".
