We run a full backup on Fridays and differentials on Mon-Thurs every week. Backup Exec 11d (rev 7170 with SP1 and all hotfixes) runs on Windows Server 2003 SP2 machine. The data is backed up to an Overland REO hard disk device attached to the server via iSCSI. A duplicate tape job then runs immediatly after. This is done via a Quantum Superloader3 containing a DLT-S4 tape drive connected to the backup server.
The backup to the REO device completes without fault. However, for the differential jobs only, the duplicate REO to tape job reports as completing succesfully but the job log states errors for each backup set:
Source backup set had completed with following error/exceptions.
v-79-57344-33291 - Library error - device is busy.
The server and Superloader3 logs do not report any problems to indicate the device is busy. The data is definitely on the tape. The Superloader3 is on the hardware compatibility list for Backup Exec 11D and has the latest firmware for both the autloader and tape drive.
