Based on the KB article "http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH167923" I directed the staging file to a drive on the media server with 241 Gig of free space.

Hi,
Check if this document helps:

I had seen this tech doc as well. However, the volume I'm accessing in on disks that are connected through a PERC 6/i integrated SAS controller and are formated for RAID 5. I don't know how one would get better response without upgrading the entire server. It seems too drastic a measure to do a simple restore. Unless I'm missing somthing that might be an option?

Hi Peter,
What happens if you try duplicating the Exchange restore to disk first and then running the restore from there?
Read below if you are unsure of how to do this...

Have you had this issue before, or is it a new issue? Is your media server patched with the latest patches from the Symantec support site?
THanks!

Hey Craig,
I'll try restoring the Exchange Infomation Store to the disk and see what happens. This is the first attempt at restoring an Exchange mailbox, or part there of. The version of Backup Exec is version 11.0 rev 7170 including Service Pack 5 and Hot fix 70.
Thanks for the suggestion,
Peter
