Chris,

Is this happening on the Backup Exec server or a remote client?  Also are you noticing any other errors in the Application or System log around the same time as that alert?

This is happening on the remote agent server.  I also get a error in the event log about load balancing (event id 7000)right around the same second or so that I receive the symtdi error.   Please see below for the two that  I get in the system event log when I restart the Backup Exec remote agent service.  Thanks!

For the Network Load Balancing service check this technote, http://support.veritas.com/docs/263037

After a little checking I found that the SYMTDI is an Symantec AV service, not a Backup Exec service.  So you may want to check on the AV forums on how to resolve that issue.  I did some quick checking for a technote or knowledge base article and could not find one that seemed useful for you.
