Backup Exec 11d services not installed

Hi All,

I really need some help on this one.
Due to a recurring error "data not being written to the tapes", I tried to be wise and manually uninstalled Backup Exec. This meant I also removed all the registry keys added by the application. Followed the instructions here:

After reinstalling Backup Exec 11d, the status of the services is: Backup Exec Services on server: Not Installed. Any way the services can be manually installed or a way the software would install the Backup Exec Services.

I have been looking around for a solution and have gone through dozens of postings on this forum but couldnt find anything.

Any help will be appreciated as the situation is getting quite desperate!!

Regards,

Syed

Syed,

If you go to the services list, are the bacup exec services listed in there and started? To get there, click Start>Run>type "services.msc" (without the quotes).  You should have:

- Backup Exec Agent Browser
- Backup Exec Device & Media Service
- Backup Exec Job Engine
- Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Systems
- Backup Exec Server

Thats the list of Backup Exec services.  Agent browser, job engine and server are the important ones.
