Backup Exec 12.5 Exchange Restore Failure

Trying to restore an exchange database into an RSG and keep getting error message 0xe000fed1 - failure occurred querying the Writer status.

I've checked the VSSADMIN List Writers and the Microsoft Exchange Writers is in a stable state but last error was Retryable Error.

We have rebooted the exchange server and retried the restore again but with the same error hapening.

When running the restore I make my selection, use file redirection to put the exchange db into the RSG.

Can someone advise please as I'm not sure if there is another way of carrying out the restore or if I'm missing something obvious?

Ensure backup exec is fully patched up with latest service pack and all updates and ensure remote agent on exchange server is on same version as media server
