We have recently added a Oracle database to our environment. We are having issues with the data not deduplicating well. Data Domain was able to provide us with some best practices for Oracle backups using RMAN. We are having issues figuring out how to implement the recommended settings with Backup Exec.
The settings I would like to set are
- FILESPERSET = 1
- MAXOPENFILES = 1
- # of channels (I believe that Backup Exec does allow me to configure this)
- Disable encryption (I don't think it is turned on by default but just to be safe)
- Disable Oracle compression
