Backup Exec 12.5 and Exchange 2007

Hello All,

I have a new Exchange 2007 server that was just setup.  I am having difficulties with credentials while setting up a job for the server.  I can backup the disks (C:. D:) without issue, but when I select the Address, Exchange OAB, Resource$ shares, my login credentials fail.  I am using the domain administrator account to do the backup.  I'm at a loss as to what I need to do to backup my Exchange server properly.

The exchange server is a Server 2008 box.
The exchange server is a member server of our domain
The exchange server is the only 2008 server in our environment.  The rest are 2003 servers.

We are new to Exchange here and so I hope this is a dummy question.  Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Brent

Hello,

If we are facing some credential issues:

For exchange backups and restores we require following rights for the Backup Exec Service Account.
1  : Unique name (first 5 letters)
2  : Mailbox Enabled account
3  : Not hidden from the Global Address list
4  : Send as Receive as permissions
5  : Exchange Full Admin
6  : Domain Admin and Local Admin for Exchange if Exchange is not a Domain Controller.

Hope this helps...
