Backup Exec 12.5 not scanning tapes in Remote Media Agent for Linux

Hi all,

We have a NEO 2000 tape library attached to a Linux server running RHEL 5 and Remote Media Agent for Linux Servers. I added the agent fine in our Windows Backup Exec server, but I cannot see the tapes under the Slots option. I initialized the robotic library, performed a scan, and did an inventory, but still no tapes in the library. Am I missing something?

Hello,

Which licenses are installed with Backup Exec?

We have a lot of options enabled and licensed. Remote Media Agent for Linux Servers is licensed and installed. Is there something else that needs to be installed?

Would not having the Library Expansion Option installed cause Backup Exec not to scan the robotic library? We already have 1 robotic library attached to the Backup Exec server and Backup Exec is complaining that there is a LEO license violation.

Hello,

LEO license is required if we have more than one TAPE Drive in a Library. Unlimited Stand Alone Drives are supported with Backup Exec Base License.

I need to check it with Symantec Support if we require LEO License for Remote Media Agent for Linux Servers.
