Backup Exec 12.5 on SBS 2008 unknown error

Hi,

Having an issue with BE 12.5 on SBS 2008. A backup to disk backup completes fine, when I try a backup to tape (HP Ultrium 3), I get an 'unknown error'. It can back up various amounts of data before giving this error. I have installed latest drivers, service packs, patches, firmware for drive and even uninstalled and re-installed the software and still get teh same problem. I ran tests using HP Tape Tools and all pass successfully?!?!?!?!?!

Has anyone seen this happen before?

Any help much appreciated....

if you shut down all BackupExec services, can NTbackup see and access the drive OK?

I tried that already, unfortunately SBS2008 doesn't appear to offer support for tape drives through NTBackup (windows server backup in SBS 2008). I can see it ok in device manager......

The server is a HP ProLiant ML350 G5 if that helps....

Found the problem:

Issue with 'HP WMI Storage Providers' service, disabled this and now working ok.
