Hi there,
I am about to purchase a Backup Exec 12 Hyper-V suite and wish to clarify a few things. From my knowldge it's recommended to not have anything installed on the host machine other than the Hyper-V role. So the question is: Is it recommended to have Backup Exec installed on the host machine or one of the VM's?
Thanks.

Its recommended to install BE on the host machine as you may face challenges while making the
VM detect the tape device.

Thanks Amol,
Are you aware of any known issues with BES installed on the host? like slow responses from VM's or trust issues as the host is not part of the domain?
Regards,
Chris.

Why are you buying BE 12? The latest version is BE 2010 R3 which is a couple of version ahead of this version.

Hi phk,
Is B 2010 a better app for the VM infrastructure?

Chris.

BE 2010 R3 is the latest version of BE and would have the most enhancements/fixes for backing up VM's
