Backup Exec 12 - System Backup to Internal Hard Drive

I am a total noob when it comes to Backup Exec.   I have taken over administration of a server that uses Backup Exec 12.  Normally I work with BESR.  So there is an existing backup job that works fine that runs to a USB drive that is always attached.   I have an internal drive in that server that I need to run a new backup to.  How do I set it up?  I have a device setup (Internal HDD) under Backup-to-Disk folders.  I have a media set (also named Internal HDD) defined (though there is nothing in it and I don't know how to put stuff in it).  I have a job defined to backup C, E, and system state to the Internal HDD device and the Internal HDD media set.  It goes active but seems to queued and eventually errors with E000846B.  What am I doing wrong?

Is the job defined as APPEND or OVERWRITE?

If the job is defined as APPEND, BackupExec must be able to see media that already has a backup set in that media set that is within the APP (Append period) for that media set

Other than that, sounds like you have everything else covered
