Backup Exec 2010 - Exchange 2010

Hi,

Last night, we tried to make the first backup to one exchange 2010 new server. The job fail with the folowing error:

V-79-57344-4623 - Unable to backup \\Exchange-server-namet\Microsoft Information Store\Mailbox Database_name. This operation is not supported on 32-bit media servers because Microsoft does not support 32-bit Exchange Management Tools for Exchange Server 2010. You must use a 64-bit media server for this operation.

Have to install a new 64-bit media server?

Thanks!

Hi eFe,

To backup a 64-bit Exchange Server from a 32-bit media server, the 32-bit Exchange Management Tools are required on the 32-bit media server.
As Microsoft does not support/provide 32-bit Exchange Management Tools for Exchange Server 2010, a 32-bit media server cannot backup an Exchange 2010 server.

Resolution -

Install Backup Exec 2010 on a 64-bit machine in order to backup Exchange 2010.

NoteTo protect Exchange 2010, Backup Exec must be installed on a Microsoft Windows 2008 SP2 64-bit media server or a Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 64-bit media server.

Hi eFe,
as I understand, your Exchange is a remote server.
You must install 64-bit remote agent on exchange server,
