Hi,
Software: Backup Exec 2010 R3 with all the latest updates
I am currently having problems ejecting tape from our tape drive, when I select "Eject tape after completion on the job policy" the job just hangs at the end even though it had written the data on tape, so I have de-selected the "Eject tape after completion" and everyday I manually eject the tape from the tape drive.
I have also tested it by doing a software tape eject from the Devices section, and that fails too (just hangs, and would need to re-start the backup exec services for it to eject it out).
The tape eject worked previously on Backup exec 11d, stopped working since installing 2010 R3.
Any assistance will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jay

First thing to check is that is your tape drive supported with Backup Exec 2010 R3 ?
Please refer to Hardware Compatibility List http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH137050 for the same.
Then check in the Windows Device Manager if Symantec drivers are installed for the Tape drive. If not then update the drivers to Symantec drivers. Latest DDI drives available are "http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH173790"
Thanks,

Do you see any alert in the alerts tab waiting for your response.
If there is any alert then configure that alert to clear out automatically.
EDIT : Media remove alert

There is no media alert notifications, stating to remove media or any other alerts.
Thanks
