Backup Exec 2010 for Hyper-V

BTRGROUP
Not applicable

Hello,

I was hoping to get some assistance.  I recently installed the Hyper-V agent for Backup Exec (60-day Trial). I want to test this out. The issue that I have is I am unable to view any of my Hyper-V images that reside on our cluster through Backup Exec.

I've installed the backup agent on our servers and Hyper-V servers. When I navigate through the backup selection it recognizes which server is Hyper-V but unable to display any of my images.  I did notice the following though.  I have to recently created two new Hyper-V images which reside on our SAN but isn't part of the failover cluster just yet.  Backup-Exec is able to see those two images, but not the images that are part of Windows Failover Cluster.  So, BackupExec can read contents on the SAN, just not the ones in the clusters.

I am sure there is something simple I am missing but I've looked all over for any documentation on how to set this up and nothing. Can someone please assist?  Let me know if any additional info is needed.

Thanks in advance!

Please refer to the following technotes to configure backups of Hyper-V in Cluster:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH64567 : How to Backup Hyper-V in a clustered environment

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH125595 : Some Highly Available Virtual Machines may show no selections for the VHD files when browsing the Hyper-V cluster name on a Windows 2008 R2 Hyper-V Cluster.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH127823 : In Backup Exec 2010, some of the clustered resources including Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV) and Hyper-V icon do not show up in the Backup Selections under the Virtual Node name for a Windows 2008 R2 cluster if the Virtual Node contains 15 plus characters in its name.
