We're currently trialing the latest Backup Exec 2012 SDR and have come up against a problem when doing the restore to different hardware.
We've successfully restored 2 other servers in exactly the same way, but one particular server fails everytime.
The server we're looking to restore is on physical hardware, its is a HP Proliant ML110, its running Windows Server 2008 R2 Std. We're looking to restore it back to a virtual machine running on VMWare ESXi hyper-visor. As previously mentioned, we're restoring 3 server in total. Two restored fine, one is a virtual server running on VMWare Server (Windows Server 2008 std) and the other is a physical server, an HP ML350 (Windows Server 2008 R2 Std). Both are restored back to VMware ESXi without any issues.
The error we recieve is during the "Setup is applying system settings" the error is "Windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file for pass [specialize]. The settings specified in the answer file cannot be applied. The error was detected while processing settings for components [Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup].
Now from reading about BESR and SSR the issue is to do with the "Restore Anywhere"feature, which can't be disbaled on the respective products, but I can't seem to find this option in relation to SDR.
