Backup Exec 2012 and Iomega StorCenter px4-300d

Hi guys,

We have just upgraded to backup Exec 2012. We performed a backup on one of our servers and it worked without any issues.

A NAS drive is also present. (Iomega StorCenter px4-300d). This drive has all the users folders and files. We are a lighting company so it holds all the drawings, designs etc.

My question is, how do I backup the NAS using Backup Exec?

I can add the NAS to the server list on backup exec and select the folders and files. But the moment I start the process, it keeps coming up with errors regarding username and password. The NAS is connected to the AD so any username and password should work right? It shows a green tick near the device but a red cross near the folder selection. However despite all this, it still starts to backup my selection...

Has anyone had this issue?

Thanks in advance.

hi,

Make sure that the Backup Exec service account has admin rights on the NAS.

You'd then add it in as a user-defined selection. This should resolve the issue.

Thanks!

Hi Craig,

Thanks for the reply.

Do you mean the service account that is in the AD?

...if you can AD-integrate it, then great. Makes life a lot easier.
