Backup Exec 9.1 Inconsisstent Media error

Hi,

We have a Windows 200 SBS server which uses Backup Exec 9.1 and an Archive Python 06240-XXX SCSI Sequential drive to do its backups, thi shas worked pretty well for a long while but now we are getting Inconsisten Media errors.

So far I have tried replacing the tape drive and new tapes but the error is still there. I have tried using NTBackup and that works fine even using the older tapes so i am at a loss to try and resolve this. I have just downloaded fresh drivers from Symantec to see if that helps but I am not convinced.

Can anyone help with this?

Are both your SCSI and backup device on the same controller? You might have to separate the two and or update the controller.

Looking in the Device Manager there are two seperate controllers one is the RAID card and the other is the onboard SCSI controller.
