Backup Exec Remote Agent Problem.

hamdan
Not applicable
I'm getting the following error:

Backup- pc1.domain.local

License Violation: A Remote Agent for Windows Systems license is required for protecting remote servers with this edition of Backup Exec. Please contact your vendor for information on

protecting remote servers with this edition of Backup Exec. -79-57344-65084 - Before you can back up the resource (\\pc1.domain.local\Shadow?Copy?Components), you

must purchase and install a license key for the appropriate Backup Exec agent. A selection on device \\pc1.domain.local\System?State was skipped because of previous

errors with the job.

This backup job was running fine and I started getting this message after changing the administrator password.

Any ideas???

Hi,

You get this error message, if the remote agent for windows (RAWS) license key is not added on the media server.

Make sure the license is present on the media server by clicking on:

tools=>Install options and license keys on this media server=>

if there is not license key for remote agent, add one, if you see the remote agent license key.. Just restart the Backup exec services once and that should take care of this issue.

Backup Exec has the ability to test some agents and options in evaluation mode even when you have a core license installed on the media server  - as such it is possible that your administrator password change just happened to be the same day as the evaluation period expired which would give the impression that your password change caused the issue.

Aas previosuly indicated by others the error is usually caused because you do not have a remote agent serial number enabled on your media server.
