Backup Exec Remote Agent Utility: The application failed to start bacause its side by side configuration is incorrect

We use a complete clean Windows Server 2008/64 bit installation.

From the log:

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\RAWS\vxmon.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

What do we do?

Try installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) from <http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BA9257CA-337F-4B40-8C14-157CFDFFEE4E&displaylang=en>

Note you will probably have to reboot the server once it is installed and before trying to run VxMon

A reboot would be required after this.
