Hi everybody,
If i have the deduplication option and DLO, can i use the same space in disk for storage the data? or it´s necesary to have two different tiers of storage.
Thanks
Best regards

By same space, do you mean you want to put the DLO data into the dedup folder? I don't think this can be done. You can backup the DLO data into the dedup folder.

You could use the same disk volume/LUN, though performance would suffer.
You can't save DLO data to the dedupe folder.
You can backup DLO data to the dedupe folder if it's not compressed or encrypted.

Hi,
be careful with dedupe folder. You should never write other data than BE backups in the volume hosting the dedupe folder. You should create one RAID group and 2 LUNs. One is for the dedupe operations and the other will be for the DLO one's.
Effectively, if you want to backup the DLO's DB you can use the dedupe device of BackupExec.
