Backup Exec job runs for a time then 'freezes' and job stays queued

I'm running Backup Exec v9.1 on a Windows 2000 server interfacing to a Certance CL400H halfheight LTO-2 tape drive on a dedicated SCSI (Adaptec 29160). For several months after installing the Certance drive my backups ran with no problems then, just a few weeks ago, I started getting this 'job freezing' behavior. Each time it happens there's an entry in the System event log indicating an 'ADPU160 scsi timeout'. I've tried newer and older versions of the drivers for the Adaptec SCSI controller, checked connections and termination, etc, etc, but the problem persists. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

Have you installed the Veritas device drivers?Your device seems to be compatible with Backup exec as per: http://support.veritas.com/dsl/lists/device_ddProduct_BEWNT_media_all_prod1_NT9.htm

Thus install the latest device drivers from the following link:

VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 - Device Driver Installer (20050115) - Includes Tape Driver Release (20041231) and Robotic Library Release (45) (Intel Only)
http://support.veritas.com/docs/273853

Also follow the steps in the technote below:

Title: How to resolve SCSI bus timeouts
http://support.veritas.com/docs/191158

Hope this helps resolve the issue. If the problem persists, revert with details.

Note : If we do not receive your reply within two business days, this post would be marked ‘assumed answered’ and would be moved to ‘answered questions’ pool.

I've found a combination of drivers that seems to have stabilzed the backup jobs. Thx...
