Backup Plan

Hi All,
 i made a backup plan for our Dell 124LTO3 here is the summary

1. I partinioned the 16 slots into 4 different
2. in slot 1,2,3 i keep the content backup twise in a week every thursday and saturday at 11 PM. size 800GB x 3=2.4 TB
3 In slot 4,5,6 i keep backup of our production once in a week every sunday at 8 AM. Size 800GB x 3=2.4 TB
4. in slot # 7,8,9 i keep the database backup daily at 10 PM size around 800GB

The rest slots are still emty...

Now the question is , m i doing anything wrong here? plz asist me.
The problem i m facing now a days is i could not configure the mail alart system.

The main thing I'd comment on is that you should keep in mind that LTO3 tapes are 400/800, eg 400GB native, 800GB compressed. You can't be sure that you will get 2:1 compression on the tapes, and in the real world it's very unlikely. The best rule of thumb most people recommend for planning purposes is to assume you'll get around 1.2:1 - 1.3:1, which is reasonable for most types of data. So if you assume each tape will hold 500GB, giving you 1.5TB then you should be OK.
