Hi,
Not sure even PartnerNet would have something like this, and it should be down to the individual to do so.
You'd have to create a spreadsheet with a calendar in it, and designate the days that would run daily, weekly and monthly backups.
Then another sheet showing how long they'd be retained for etc.
Thanks!

Hi A. Sherif,
You can read below TN "Best practices for Backup Exec 2010 media management".
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO21797
Also, you can read BE2010 Admin Guide Chapter 4 "Managing media".
Now, for Excel Sheet Template, you can create your own excel template based on your companies Backup Strategies. You can use the dialog box (see below link) as your reference to create your own Excel Template. Below link descibes "General options for backup jobs and template"

Append/OPP is determined by your business requirements. If you need to retain the data on tape for 10 days, set the retention accordingly.
You're using BE 2010 so you can still do GFS (Grandfather, Father, Son - Monthly, Weekly, Daily) and these will have their own retention times for instance.
There is no best practice around this.
You can read up on Append/OPP on the link below:

Thanks!
