Backup Rate

Hi,
I would like to know why the backup rate for my server is very slow recently.
The backup devide is connected to the source server directly,so I suppose this job will not relate to network speed.
But strangely, without changing any settings the backup rate for last month is ~ 1000Mb/min and for this month it is only ~150Mb/Min.
How to check what is wrong ?

Hi,

Here are a few documents that could be of help:

* How to correct slow backup performance, slow virus or pre-job scans, and agent initialization problems on fragmented Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows 2003 server partitions

If you are backing up Exchange resources as well, please refer to the following documents:

I didn't change any settings for this backup job but just wonder why the backup rate suddenly is so slow.I am not sure whether there is any changes in my company network speed or not but I assume the network speed will not affect the backup because the device is attached directly to the server. Will network speed affect the backup rate?

Hello,
Yes it will if you have remote Backups.
Let us know what the status is.
