Backup Virtual Server

Hi

We are thinking of using Virtual Server for some of our smaller servers to save having loads of machines. Is there a way of backing up a virtual server using Veritas?

Neil,

You can install the Remote Agent on the guest operatings systems, and back them up like normal Windows servers on your network.

Absolutely correct, I have that running now, if you wish to backup your vmdk files though you should look at this, you can run the RALUS agent on the VMWare box but it is a bit of messing around:

Hi All,
I am wondering if anyone is using virtual machines in the Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 Enterprise Edition environment? If so, could you share you backup strategy.
What I have been trying to accomplish is to back up the virtual servers using the Backup Exec System Recovery Server Edition, or a previous version of it called Live State, which creates an image of the machine, like Ghost, and then you should be able to restore it from dos in case of a disaster.
I am not sure and cannot find any information if these products support the VMs in the Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 Enterprise Edition environment. Has anyone seen or tried anything regarding this?
Thanks a lot.
Any help is appreciated.

I do that currently and it seems to work but I have not yet tried a restore, I have those tests planned in the near future
