Backup encountered an error doing DBCC when accessing database during backup

Over the weekend the Symantec Backup Exec 11d Small Business Server Suite ran on our Small Business server 2003 R2 Premium Edition which includes SQL 2005. We received an error message stating the backup encountered an error doing a DBCC (data base consistency check) when accessing a new database we had created on the server.  Our backups have run fine before adding this new database.  I'm about to try running a dbcc check from the management studio, but I wanted to see if there was a known fix for this too.  Thanks, Eric

I don't recall any known issues like this.  I'd go ahead and run the DBCC check through SQL itself.

After doing a DBCC on the database from the management studio I got an error stating

CHECKDB found 0 allocation errors and 5 consistancy errors in database 'Advantage'

Would this mean there is not an issue with backup exec then?
