Backup exec 10d wont run scheduledHi backup but will run manually

Hi

Currently Exec Backup will not run the scheduled backups. they start to run & then hang for about 45 mins (before it has actually stated backing up any data at all ) & then time out with the error message event id 34114 backup exec alert:job cancellation by system service.
however when I manually run a backup the job completes. any ideas?

Hi,

Try changing the schedule and run a repair install of Backup exec from Add/Remove programs and then verify.

check the backup job properties, click frequency and clear the "Enable Automatic Cancellation" if checked.

If "Enable Automatic Cancellation" is not enabled than review the job log details you will be able to find out the cause.

I have tried looking for the "Enable Automatic cancellation" under frequewncy and schedule but cnt find it. where exactly is it?

right click the job and than click the "Priority and Availibility", you will be able to find the Availibility window and "Enable Auto cancellation"...
