Backup exec Inventory issue

Frank_Chorpenni

Backup exec 9.1 question - I had a backup job die ( it froze) in the middle of backing up a Netware 6.0 volume, so the job didn't finish properly. When I perform an inventory on the tape from the failed job, it shows one volume that did get backed up but the other one is missing. Is there a way to inventory the tape and see what was backed up from the other volume ( the volume that was getting backed up when the job froze.)?

To see what data is on a given tape, go to the Restore Selections pane and select Media view rather than Volume view.

It doesn't matter which view I use it shows only the one volume, the SYS volume. Is there a way to show what else is on the tape? The tape volume information shows 20 GB is used and the SYS volume is roughly 5 GB. Please help...

Shut down all backupExec Services
rename the catalogs directory (ie \Catalogs.sav)
restart BackupExec
inventory
catalog

If that doesn't work, you are probably SOL

(Remember to swap the \Catalog Directory back)
