Backup exec remote agent service can't restart/stop

i am using symantec backup exec 2010 R2 and recently i have running the live update and got 4 hotfixes. i download hotfixes and push the hotfixes to the remote agent successfully.

after that while i am taking backup get failed backup message because the media server unable to connect remote agent that means remote agent not detected.

i checked the remote agent services showing as start but there is no any option for restart/stop/push because all options are disable. i also change startup type but not getting any change.

beremote.exe version is same as media server and also tried to install remote agent manually but failed to install.

Ever i m not facing this critical issues .. i have tried lot of trouble shooting but i am failed ... please help me.

I would suggest that you upgrade to BE 2010 R3 which is the latest version. Your existing licence keys will work.  You can download BE 2010 R3 from either the fileconnect site or www.backupexec.com. After your upgrade, do not forget to run LiveUpdate a couple of time to update it to SP1 and the latest hotfixes.

After you have upgraded to R3, push out the remote agent again.

You may try the solution mentioned in the below article. Although the error message is different but 

may get the above error message if the dafault mail client is not set.

how i could restart/start/pause backup exec remote service because this option showing as disable but service are start ... from where i could uninstall outlook express ?

if this is a known issue then i will go for this ... otherwise it's not possible ... previous one year it's was running fine with this version ... when i just install the hotfixes then getting this issues.

What mail client is installed on the server? The TN does not specify uninstallation of outlook express.

here is not configure any mail client because of taking backup only 2 sql agent and 1 remote agent for windows systems....using here office 2000 standard.

The remote agent service is probably hung and is unresponsive.  You would have to re-boot the server to clear this problem.

i have been reboot the server but agent service is same.

Check that the service account that BE is using is not locked in the directory. When possible re start the target server that you trying to back up. Check out the pusch install log.
