Backup fail with LSI U320 scsi card

I have Symantec Backupexec 12 sp2 on windows 2008 64bit

The server is  "HP  ProLiant  DL380 G5" with LSI U320 scsi card and It's connect to "HP Ultrium 920" backup tape.

My problem is that the backup fail after backing up 1Gbyte.
I get the following error: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/311666.htm
I contact LSI and they said that ScsiPort driver doesn’t support windows 2008

Do you have any idea how to solve it?

Other problem - when I close backupexec window by click X, The window got stuck. And to close it I need to terminate the application using task manager

Could you solve the problem?

We have the exact same problem and we spent hours on phoning with HP support, Symantec support and LSI but nobody could help us.

thanks

I have the same problem on our ml350g2 server. For your information, the problem appeared before I installed the LSI card, I had the ultrium 920 connected to the internal scsi controller. But it got even worse after installing the LSI card... Tape drive hung, lights flashing... I ended up installing a dedicated backup server with an adaptec card, and I now run the backup via the network. And that works just fine.

Here are som tips from the HP forum, you might try installing the MS storeport driver, and disabling the insight agents (which, by the way, didn't help me..)

Thanks a lot - stopping the HP services did the trick.
