Dear Experts,
As a default behavior, Symantec BE 2012 backs up its database at 4:00 AM daily, and creates a file 'bedb.bak'.
But when i searched *.bak in Symantec BE 2012 installation directory, it gave me 4 files with the extension of .bak, listed below:
1. BEHADatabase.bak
2. bedb.bak
3. bedb_dat.bak
4. bedb_log.bak
I need to ask the purposes of these file.
Moreover, if I only have 'bedb.bak' file, could I be able to recover whole database? And what will be the procedure?
Please guide me through.
Kind Regards,
Sharjeel

Hi,
You need:
1. bedb.back
2. Data folder
3. Catalogs folder
bedb.bak is included in the Data folder.
To recover the media server, you can follow the link below (check the solution):

Thanks!

BEHADatabase.bak is the DB backup of the ApplicationHA database. bedb_dat.bak is the backup of the blank BEDB. BEDB_dat.ldf is the backup of the log file.
bedb.bak is only required if performing a recovery using BEUtility. However, as a good practice, would recommend to keep a copy of the Data & Catalog folders as well.
