Hi,
I would like to have a backup of a physical server as virtual that I could throw into Vmware Workstation. Thus in case it's required I can start the virtual to buy time while rebuilding or fixing the physical server. I do not however though have ESX/VCenter/Hyper-V. How could I convert backups to a virtual machine?

Hi,
BE 2012 will not convert a physical server to a VM with VMware Workstation as the target. This application is not supported.
Check the BE 2012 SCL below:

You'd have to find another way to get that physical server converted to a VM and then mount in Workstation unfortunately.
Thanks!
