Hello, i'm new to Backup exec.. We currently have 2 exchange server, to 2sharepoint and 2 sql. I need to be able to keep data on Disk for 15 days and then on tape for 30 days.. We have a MSL 6000 HP backup device which hold 50 300/600(compressed) tapes. I need to know how do i create the polices to do this. Thanks everyone in advance for your support.
There is a built-in policy for this. Of course, it will only work if you've already created your B2D location, and the tape device exists and is working in BE.
From the built-in policy, all you have to do is create your selection lists.
In the BE 2010 R2 manual, Chapter 12 deals with policy and in particular there is a section on duplicate backup set templates. You should familiarise yourself with this.
