We are evaluating Symantec Backup Exec V11d software. We have created a Backup to Disk Policy with Baseline policy - Synthetic Policy - Incremental Policy. True Image restore option is selected. Details as below
Backup to Disk Folder(For baseline/synthetic) -
Size: maximum size for backup-to-disk files=150GB
Allocate maximum size for backup-to-disk files is NOT selected
Maximum number of backup sets=1
Disk Space Reserve = Not selected
Auto detect Setting is selected for device settings.
Media Set protection: 0 Hours for Overwrite and Append
Media vault-None
Backup to Disk Folder(For Incremental) -
Size: maximum size for backup-to-disk files=50GB
Allocate maximum size for backup-to-disk files is NOT selected
Maximum number of backup sets=5
Disk Space Reserve = Not selected
Auto detect Setting is selected for device settings.
Media Set protection: 5 Days for Overwrite and Append
Media vault-None
We take backup of around 100GB data. The disk on on SAN where backups are taking place and total size of the disk is 200GB. Backups include Database backup files. Database is not directly backed up. First Database is backed up locally and then Symantec takes backup of it remotely of the SQL backup folder. This is done for two remote SQL Server.
The problem comes when it backing up the core database file on the second server which is around 25GB in size. The backups runs for around 8-9hours and gives the below error:
"The job failed with the following error: An error occurred during the snapshot cleanup, or could not locate a snapped volume from which to back up."
Please guide.
