Backup to multiple tape drives

How do I backup to multiple tape drives

I have 2 DLT VS80 Tape drives

I want to perform a un-attended scheduled backup of data that will not fit on one tape, so I want the backup to start on one tape and when it is full continue on the other tape.

Or even better write to both tapes at the same time (they are on separate SCSI controllers)

How would I go about that?  Is it even posable?

Thank you

To write to both devices at the same time, you need to have two separate jobs. Backup Exec can't multiplex/multistream a job across multiple devices.
In order to use the devices consecutively, you need to target your backup job to a drive pool, and ensure both your drives are in the same pool.

When you create the device pool, if it makes a difference, make sure you assign priorities to each device so it will use "Drive 1" first and then "Drive 2". Some people won't care, but I like to keep track of how the tapes are used (I can switch the full tape every cycle so it becomes the partial tape the next cycle).
