BackupExec 2010 R3 to 2012 same server but different location?

Hi,

Backup Exec 2010R3 is installed on drive C:\, catalogs are on drive D:\. Because drive C:\ is running out of space I would like to move the installation files also on drive D:\. How can I do an inplace upgrade and moving the installation files on drive D:\ ?

Hi

When you install BE2012 on top of BE2010 you would have option to specify location you can give it as D drive and that should do in place upgrade 

Please ensure before upgrading to BE2012 you have tested it by installing on test machine as it is completely different from its earlier version

thanks for your quick answer! So after the installation on a different drive I can delete the old installation directory (Backup Exec 2010) on drive C:\ right?

Yes after upgrade if you see it still existent then you can delete it
