We are currently running BackupExec 2012 on Windows 2008 and is getting this error message below.
It seems that my VSS is not working correctly. Any idea how to fix this?
We tried reboot the server, recreate the job without any success.
See error message and output of vsswriter below.

Make sure there isn't any other application, maintanance or utility jobs running during the backup, also that the Volume Shadow copy service is not started and set to start up type either Manual or Automatic.
Check for errors in Windows Event Logs during the time the backup job runs.
for more information on this error see: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH159538
hope this helps

Hello there,
As you can observe there seems to be some issue with your VSS writers on the server. Ensure that you have installed all the updates of the Operating system (specially the patches related to VSS).
If the writers are still not stable then it would be best to contact Microsoft support to resolve the VSS issue.
Regards,
-Sush...
