Backupexec 2010 devices

I have the following:

Magnum 224 tape device 2 drives

ATTO PCI UL5D dual channel ultra 320 host adapter card

Dell R610 with Windows 2008 R2

Symantec 2010 Backup Exec v13 rev 4164 SP1 pathes 150096

144101

148347

153090

147674

155520  installed

If I leave the device drives with Magnum, the server sees the devices and says "Operating Properly"

If I change the Symantec drives says it is not "Operating Properly"

Symantec does not see with their drivers or the Magnum 224 drivers.

Any ideas how to fix the issue?

Backup Exec (tm) 2010, 2010 R2 and 2010 R3 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH137050

if you go thr the compatibility list will find "this device is nearing the end of support"

if tape library is functioning properly with OEM drivers you can stick with it than updating symantec drivers.

hope this helps!

Remove the device from server and add it again. Install manufacturer's drivers. Once everything is fine with the operating system, run device configuration wizard from BE. It will detect the tape devices and installs symantec drivers.

Check if you can install some firmware updates on the ATTO scsi adapter and the tapelibrary / drives.
