I have mdb databases running. I can copy them by hand no problem.
Why can't backup exec backup these files?

That is, I get errors they can't be backed up.

Access files?

About the only way to get then would be to purchase and install the AOFO.

You could try "Open Files without a Lock" but may get corrupt data if someone/something is actually access the database during the backup

Do you mean Exchange MDB files?

Smiley Wink

If so, i scheduled an out of hours backup, and this stopped all files from being open, and then they where backed up

I have several web services running that use mdb files.

I was already running off hours, who doesn't.

Anyway I enabled the no lock option. I'm aware of the risk, but it's less risk than no file at all.

Should be an option of "try to lock and if fail then backup with no lock".
