Backups - Incremental time

Greetings

I am having problems using the Incremental - Time backup option. System is running XP BackupExec v9.1Rev469. Take this example :

Directory with one file X : I have run a full backup time option ... sucessful completion
Same directory with file X (unchanged) and new file Y copied into this directory from another drive. Same selction file : I have run an Incremental - Modified time backup ... fails to find the new file Y ...
Same directory ... open and save file Y and rerun backup ... completes finding Y ...

Is it not possible to copy new files into directory X and have the Incremental timed backups locate these new files ?

- Any events in the event logs?
- Can you tell us in detail what you are doing?
