Backups failing with new tapes

I have recently installed new tapes and the backups are now failing. I have a magazine that holds 7 tapes plus a cleaning tape. I heard something about changing the "lables" or "volume lables". I have looked at my veritas software but not quit sure what i need to change or how to change it. Can anyone help?

Can you elaborate on your backup issue?
What is the error message that you receive?
Is it a remote backup or a local backup?
Have you installed the latest veritas drivers?
Did you reseive any events in system event logs?
