Baxkup on Win2000 Server with HP DDS4 autoloader

Hello,

I am using Backup Exec 8 on a Win2000 Server. This server has a HP DDS4 autoloader tape device. What I am looking for is a simple method to backup files in the following way:

A weekly Backup is stored on one tape, full backup on Sunday, digfferential backup on Mon - Sat.

Next week uses its own tape. Up to five weeks can be stored on five tapes

Is there any protocol out there which describes what configuration I should use? How can I define which tape will be used?

You can partition the library and create separate weekly jobs for 1st week, 2nd etc. then point the backups to the appropriate partition.

You would need to be certain that a whole week's worth of full + diffs would fit on the same tape if you create a partition of one slot only, tho -
