Be 2010 doesnt eject tape after backup

I have a site that uses BE 2010 SP1 with all hotfixes applied.

I have setup a backup job to eject the tape after completion,  the box being ticked in the gui , when you look at the properties of the job, it shows "eject media after job completes: no"

Anybody any idea of anything I can try please.

is there  a way to create a job that just does an eject tape.

I have tried recreating the backup job.

The summaries above display the incorrect information. The backup job will still adhere to the "Eject Media After Job Completes" option that was set in the backup policy.

Unfortunatly we are finding that the tape doesnt eject!

If we run a manual eject that works, but at the moment as a job completes it isnt ejecting the tape.

Are there any Alerts in the Alerts section of Backup Exec?

Please respond to those alerts if they are present.

Just a silly question.  Are you using a stand-alone tape drive?  If not and you are using a tape library, then you should enable the library's mailslot and use an export job to export the tape to the mailslot.
